Our office refurb

14.08.17

Days are getting darker, nights are getting colder and tales of exotic fun filled holiday destinations are waning.

If that’s not enough to contend with and, hibernating behind your desk in a dull, cramped office is all you’ve got to look forward to when you arrive at work this autumn, you need to take a leaf out of our book.

We spend on average around 92,120 hours at work in our lifetime, so it’s pretty important for your environment to feel welcoming. Surely, in a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere you are at your most productive?

At B2 – we have rebooted our office. For us it’s all about delivering customer delight – delighted customers stay with us, value our services and do more with us. So how do we bring our customers back? Our people are the mainstay to our success. An office refurb is not just about sitting pretty, it’s a great opportunity to build rapport, toughen up team spirit and crank up camaraderie.

We admire our stylish, yet functional new office and we’ve reformed. The positive atmosphere has had a vibrant impact on work ethic and productivity. Like our company values state “do more with less”.

Steve Jobs once said “design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works”

It’s not all work and no play at B2. We have table football, TV’s that display company news, birthdays, games and great job opportunities. The new office design works, and it works well.

If you are thinking of rebooting your office, here are a couple of things to consider:

Before you do anything – make sure you have the correct back up in place!

IT equipment: wires and cables can get jumbled so make sure you label or number everything as well as which computer they correspond to before you separate them out in to crates. This will help you get set up again and back to work quickly.

You could also try donating office equipment and items you don’t need! There are plenty of companies who will collect and recycle your old IT equipment.

If you are temporarily moving printers and monitors to allow for redecorating make sure you wrap them individually in blankets or thick bubble wrap to avoid them getting damaged. Never stack them on top of other items, or place contents on top of them.

As the old saying goes, either use it or lose it. An office spruce up every now and then is a good way to keep on top of unwanted collectables, something your health and safety officer will love you for!
